. The Portsmouth based company launching the new bid for a marquee bar is directed by Steve Davis, the former managing director of SSD Concerts who left the gig promotion company in April 2021 following allegations from former staff over pay and the company’s workplace culture. Venues and artists, including Sam Fender, Idles and Lanterns on the Lake, cut ties with the company after largely anonymous allegations were posted on the firm’s Instagram account. At the time, the company and Mr Davis issued strong denials to all claims, but Mr Davis later announced he had stepped down as managing director. He said he had been “publicly tarnished based on several anonymous comments posted online”, adding that he was “sorry for any mistakes I have made along the way.” Mr Davis is now the sole director of the renamed SSD Industries Ltd company IG Festivals Ltd, which is registered at the same Portsmouth address as SD Consultancy North Ltd.
