PremierLeague-News.Com - Breaking Sport Transfer News ! Adil Ray let rip at an MP over the Government's 'catastrophic mistakes' with the Indian variant as he made his return to Good Morning Britain on Monday The former Ackley Bridge star and Lingo host was absent from the ITV daytime show last week as Alastair Campbell hosted alongside Susanna Reid for three days as part of Mental Health Awareness Week, before colleague Ben Shephard took the reins on Thursday and Friday. Adil divided viewer opinion as he was the main host, alongside Susanna, for most of April, with some applauding him for his stance towards Government officials but others saying he made them want to 'change channels.' Well, he most certainly got people talking as he made his come back on Monday when he raged at Kwasi Kwarteng over the Government's handling in the Indian variant. The Business Secretary explained that there was, as yet, no evidence to suggest that the Indian strain of coronavirus, which has caused substantial concern over the past week as more lockdown restrictions ease, could "overcome" the Covid vaccine, while admitting that Health Secretary Matt Hancock admitted it could "spread like wildfire" amongst those who haven't had their jabs. Quick to respond, Susanna told him: "The single biggest increase in the mutant variant came amongst travellers in that week - the time between April 19, when you finally decided India should be on the red list and April 23. "You were just too late at every stage. We could have clamped down much sooner." Refusing to be drawn on any criticism of the Government, Kwarteng responded: "The point that I tried to make which you haven't addressed, is the fact that the vaccine rollout has actually made people very safe against the Indian variant.

India has a population of over a billion people. "Flights were coming in, 10 flights a day; 20,000 people - 30% of them, immigration authorities - your Government - tells us 30% weren't self isolating! "We know 160 people at least had the Indian variant. It was a mistake! Just accept that." Once again, refusing to admit any error on the Government's part, the Business Secretary put emphasis on the vaccine rollout as he responded: "The vaccination rollout is absolutely key, that's what's keeping people safe and I'm absolutely right to suggest this is really important and that people who haven't been vaccinated should be vaccinated. "And I would urge anyone watching this programme who's been called up to get a vaccine." Growing more and more frustrated at Kwarteng's reluctance to accept any blame on the Government's behalf, Adil raged: "We're not talking about the vaccine! "I'm not going to let you do this. We're talking about the Indian variant and the complete and utter catastrophic mistake this Government has made! "We should be sat here on May 17 feeling really positive and upbeat about the future of the country but because of mistakes your Government have made...every single pundit on this show; we were talking about saying 'why aren't they shutting it down?' "You know that! In your heart of hearts Kwasi you know this and you're not willing to admit you made a mistake."
