PremierLeague-News.Com - Breaking Sport Transfer News ! A woman found screaming in the middle of the street on Christmas Day launched a ‘despicable’ attack on nurses and a paramedic. Sarah Fallows, 32, was spoken to by police after they received reports of a woman screaming on the street on Peel Court, Stockport. She told officers she had been stabbed but further enquiries found she had broken a washing machine door and cut her finger instead, Manchester Magistrates Court heard. An ambulance quickly arrived but, after being placed in the back, she spat directly in the medic’s face, hitting her in the right eye. She was then taken to hospital where Fallows, of Cale Green, spat in another nurse's face and kicked a police officer in the face. Doctors were forced to give her three sedatives to try and calm her down, it was said. Fallows pleaded guilty to three offences of assaulting emergency workers and using threatening words or behaviour. Today (April 7) she was jailed for 12 weeks. When they arrived, Fallows told them she had been stabbed. However, it became clear she only had a small cut to her finger after breaking the glass on a friend’s washing machine. Fallows then lay in the middle of the road and refused to go back home, the court heard. Officers decided to place her in the back of the police van for her own safety and believed she was under the influence of alcohol or drugs. “After being placed in leg restraints she started to convulse, so an ambulance was called and arrived in four minutes,” Ms Kenyon said. “She was placed in the back of the ambulance, and once there she spat directly in the face of the paramedic.” In a statement the medic said: “I was wearing glasses but I felt some of the spit hit my right eyelid. “My job is to help people. She was given a sedative to try and ‘calm her down’ but it didn’t appear to work. After asking to go to the toilet, she spat again at another nurse, the spittle hitting her in the face. The nurse said: “I immediately went to wash my face. “I have worked for five years at Stepping Hill Hospital and I have never been spat at or assaulted. “I was simply trying to help and care for her.” As an officer tried to grab hold of her, Fallows scratched her face causing a small cut. Her colleague said her behaviour was ‘something they never had to deal with’ before. “Spitting at anyone is disgusting, but paramedics and nurses are people whose sole purpose is to provide medical attention, especially during the pandemic,” they said. “These workers are front line, this is how infection spreads. “It’s clear she disregards emergency services and people in general.” It was said a doctor treating her reported that they ‘never had to sedate someone’ as much as Fallows and had even inquired about whether to place her in an intensive care bed for the night to ‘keep her calm’. Fallows was said to have a number of previous convictions including criminal damage and assaulting emergency workers. Mitigating, Harold Smith said: “Clearly her conduct was absolutely appalling, she was clearly completely and utterly out of control. “One can only assume there was a combination of alcohol and drugs, that can be the only reason why she behaved in that way. “I am asking for one final chance.” Sentencing her, JP Nicolas Cummins said: “These were quite despicable offences. “The victims were public servants and we have a duty to protect public servants.” Fallows, of Peel Court, was jailed for 12 weeks, ordered to pay £100 compensation to all the victims and pay £200 court costs.
