It was only a matter of weeks ago that the prospect of boarding a plane and escaping to a sunny paradise was a distant fantasy, but as lockdown restrictions continue to ease this is quickly becoming a reality. While there are those who have set their sights on staycations and trips to the local beach, for others the prospect of getting on a plane and setting off to explore new pastures will be too strong to resist. It is still illegal to leave the UK for non-essential travel but the UK government will allow foreign travel from May 17 at the earliest through the introduction of a new traffic light system of green, amber and red destinations. Club Med looked at Google search volumes for holidays for each green list country over the past year to determine which ones would be the most popular for travellers now restrictions are lifting. Here are the top 10 destinations on the green list that holidaymakers are most desperate to go to: 1. Portugal 2. Iceland 3.
