Emergency services descended on Windmill Road in Croydon this afternoon (Thursday, April 8) after a car crashed into a shopfront and caused a gas leak in the area. Images taken at the scene of the crash showed a car wedged into the front of a store on Windmill Road with police cars, ambulances and fire engines all visible. A police cordon closing off a section of Windmill road was also in place. Croydon MPS, who confirmed their attendance at the scene, said the crash had caused a gas leak and urged motorists to avoid the area as first responders dealt with the aftermath of the crash.
