PremierLeague-News.Com - Breaking Sport Transfer News ! Holidaymakers are jetting out of the country as a ban on overseas leisure travel is lifted. Thousands of people are expected to take to the skies as travel restrictions are eased in England and Wales on Monday. The relaxation of the rules was described as a "symbolic moment after the most difficult year in our history", by one airports chief. Travel firms have reported a surge in demand for trips to Portugal, after the Government put the country on its green list for travel meaning travellers will not need to self-isolate on their return, and are only required to take one post-arrival test. Only a dozen countries and territories are on the green list but most are either remote islands or do not currently allow UK tourists to enter. Here's the latest travel updates from Tui, easyJet, Ryanair, BA and Jet2 easyJet EasyJet has added 105,000 extra seats to its flights serving green-tier destination. They have resumed flights to Portugal, Iceland, Israel and Gibraltar. EasyJet said: "Holidays to green destinations can go ahead. "You’ll just need to make sure you follow all the steps required by the government for your return. "Remember, this could change between booking and travel, so make sure to keep checking the government website for the latest updates – we recommend signing up for their email alerts, should anything change. "Holidays to ‘amber’ destinations can go ahead if you’re happy to travel and follow the re-entry steps set out by the government." They are also offering additional flexibility where holidays are affected by the government traffic light system or restrictions in destination. All holidays can be changed, fee free, up to 28 days before travel. TUI Tui will use aircrafts which normally operate long-haul routes to accommodate the surge of people booked to fly to Portugal. The airline said it will operate holidays to the Algarve, Madeira and Porto Santo. Flights to amber list destinations including Crete, Kos and Rhodes will operate as planned. TUI will only be flying from a few airports between May 17 and 27 - Manchester Airport, Gatwick Airport, Birmingham Airport and Bristol Airport. In its latest update, TUI added: "All Red destinations and Amber destinations where the government advise against all but essential travel, are cancelled up to and including 6 June 2021." Ryanair Ryanair will fly to the Algarve, Lisbon and Porto this summer. They have launched a seat sale with fares available from £19.99 for travel until the end of October 2021. The budget airline has added 175,000 extra seats to Portugal for this summer.
