Ben asked if the data was suggesting that date was under threat. Mr Cleverly said: "All our decisions are driven by data and the advice provided by scientists, we will leave lockdown safely and as we ease restrictions we will base decisions on data. . We've always said that we'll be driven by the data." Ben cut in and said: "You've said that so many times Mr Cleverly, I'm sorry to be rude, but you've said that so many times, but you're not answering any questions." He said: "Well no I am answering the question." But Ben said: "By deflecting, by saying 'I'm not going to speculate'."

Mr Cleverly said: "Well you keep asking me to speculate, so that's why you're getting the same answer. "I'm not going to speculate, we've always set out how we're going to move forward and we will only take actions when they're safe to do so." Ben appeared frustrated and said: "When we have minister on the show we try and get some insight for people who are genuinely concerned about what this means for their lives and livelihoods and unfortunately we don't get anything."
But Mr Cleverly hit back and said: "You keep asking me the same question. "If I've told you I'm not going to speculate. Why do you keep asking me to speculate? I'm not able to or willing." Susanna said: "Reading between the lines it sounds as if you can't rule it out." Mr Cleverly said: "Those are your words not mine, you should wait for official announcements from the government, I know that's frustrating." Susanna said: "I think people are just desperate for it to be over." And Mr Cleverly said: "I get that and it is frustrating, we've lived through circumstances beyond our control for so long." *GMB continues at 6am on ITV tomorrow
