PremierLeague-News.Com - Breaking Sport Transfer News ! Jordan Pickford - 6 Was asked to make a couple of solid saves particularly in the first half as Chelsea tried to gain the upper hand, but he was powerless to stop what was a top quality penalty from Jorginho to give the visitors the lead. His distribution was off today, however, which was disappointing. Nathan Patterson - 7 A really strong opening to the match in particular from the wing-back, making sure he had the energy to burst down the flank and offer whatever he could to the attack. He kept that up throughout the rest of the game and really lived up to his Premier League debut in exciting fashion. Ben Godfrey - 5 How unlucky can you get? Inside the first 15 minutes of the season, it looks like the defender has picked up a nasty injury after the game continued when the ball was quite clearly out of play. Everyone will no doubt wish the centre-back the best recovery possible after he was taken straight to hospital from Goodison Park. But, he just cannot keep himself fit, and was substituted midway through the second half with his latest issue. Everton can't afford another campaign of this. James Tarkowski - 7 He's slotted into the Everton side as if he's been there for years. The centre-back really is a leader, and some of his early slide tackles were crucial to his team keeping the scores level at the time. Moving across the defence later in the game didn't knock him out of his stride either and he looked solid throughout. Vitalii Mykolenko - 6 Wasn't involved in the game as much as Patterson on the opposite flank but he's completed everything that has been asked of him more than well enough. He was booked in the second half after moving into a centre-back role, but other than he changed positions very well. Abdoulaye Doucoure - 7 It's a real shame that it was Doucoure's clumsy mistake that allowed Chelsea to score the penalty on the stroke of half time, because around that the midfielder was his side's best player.

. Alex Iwobi - 7 Everton's best player in possession across the 90 minutes, picking out passes that nobody else in royal blue would to be able to set up a number of counter attacks. That's not to take away from his defensive work in a deeper role than we'd be used to seeing him in as he caused a lot of problems for the Chelsea midfield. Demarai Gray - 5 Put in a couple of dangerous crosses into the box, but he absolutely had to find the run of Gordon on the break towards the end of the first half. That was an unbelievable chance for the Blues and they didn't really get another glaring opportunity like that one. Try as he might, Gray couldn't consistently trouble the defence. Dwight McNeil - 6 Perhaps something of a subdued start to his Everton career, as he wasn't given a lot of opportunities to show what he could do in an attacking sense. There were some nice short passes and flicks to help attacks and his work off-the-ball was certainly a highlight for his side though. Unfortunately, that couldn't lead to Everton finding their way back into this match, though. SUBS Mason Holgate - 7 Asked to do a lot early doors after being introduced from the bench, particularly being strong in the air from Chelsea corners. Having been brought into the game suddenly, he settled into proceedings well and looked comfortable. Dele - 5 Couldn't really have much of an effect on the game after being introduced to play as a false nine, and he was too slow to react to the one chance he did get after strong work from Nathan Patterson. Ruben Vinagre - 6 Was pretty quiet on his debut after being introduced from the bench, with a couple of good challenges earning him an extra mark at least.
