PremierLeague-News.Com - Breaking Sport Transfer News ! 1247108074">John Kennedy has been installed the strong favourite to become the next Celtic manager, according to the latest bookmakers’ odds. Sky Bet made the 37-year-old former Elland Road boss the 8/13 favourite to replace current boss Neil Lennon, who resigned on Wednesday morning. Kennedy is well clear of second favourite Steve Clarke (4/1), as well as Belgium manager Roberto Martinez (9/2). Celtic released a statement early on Wednesday to announce Lennon’s departure on the back of a calamitous run. Kennedy, currently the assistant manager, is in line to take charge on an interim basis and possibly until the end of the season.

He learned his trade working with the Celtic youth and reserve teams and made such a mark he was appointed to Ronny Deila’s backroom team when he took over in 2014.
Kennedy continued as first-team coach when Brendan Rodgers was appointed manager in 2016 and won praise for implementing the methods that led to total domestic domination.
The former midfielder was then promoted to assistant manager when Lennon returned for a second spell as manager following Rodgers’ abrupt departure to Leicester City two years ago.
