And now a report in Spanish newspaper AS (via Sport Witness) claims the Red Devils have ‘put in place the mechanism’ to sign Camavinga from Rennes if Pogba leaves Old Trafford this summer.
Camavinga has two years remaining at Rennes, after turning down a new deal at the club, and the report adds that Zinedine Zidane made an ‘express request’ for the player in the summer window.
Apparently, the 17-year-old’s agent sent Real chiefs a message to say he couldn’t guarantee that his client would ‘still be available’ next summer after they failed to get a deal done.
And AS continues by saying that Man Utd are the ‘great threat’ standing in between Real and a deal for Camavinga.
It is unclear whether Camavinga would remain on the Red Devils’ radar if Pogba stayed at Old Trafford with AS reporting that it ‘already seems to take Pogba’s departure for granted or at least wants to watch their backs in case that happens.’
