A hero father-of-four was stabbed today after he grabbed a pole and stepped in to stop a knifeman outside a primary school.Kayfee Hameed bravely intervened and help armed police in Middlesbrough today after a fight between men wielding weapons spilled into the grounds of Berwick Hills Primary School.Staff took safety precautions when the incident first broke out at around 8.40am on Friday.Cleveland Police said officers located a number of men in possession of 'sharp objects' and arrested six people.The force confirmed a male member of the public, who assisted police in detaining the men, suffered minor injuries.Mr Hameed is now in hospital after being knifed in the leg, as his partner told Teesside Live: 'Kayfee found a pole to try and stop him, he just picked up the nearest thing to try and stop him. 'My partner ran after him up Bransdale and he ran into the school grounds.'His intention was to get the knife off him. He has four kids - he wouldn't want anything bad happening to any kids.' The school insisted that 'at no point were any pupils at risk', describing its safety measures as 'prompt and effective' but invited parents to collect their children from 12pm if they wished, once police brought the situation under control.  Police arrested six men following a fight outside Berwick Hills Primary School in Middlesbrough at 8.40am today Police arrested six men following the fight. Four males were arrested at the scene and taken into police custody.'Two members of the public attempted to intervene, to assist police in detaining the suspects. One of these men suffered minor injuries and was transported to hospital, where he was later treated and released.'Two other members of the public also reported a man attempting to steal their vehicles outside the school, but he was unsuccessful.'The incident near to the school is believed to be linked to an earlier incident around 6:40am this morning, whereby an aggravated burglary is reported to have taken place at a property on Ellerby Green. The school was placed on lockdown while officers rounded up all of the suspects  One man, who tried to subdue the suspects, suffered minor injuries according to police 'A Vauxhall Insignia and a motorbike were stolen in the incident, whereby four males attended the address and threatened the occupants with a weapon.'A total of six arrests have now been made in connection with the incidents, of men aged 22, 26, 26, 27, 28, and 49.
