PremierLeague-News.Com - Breaking Sport Transfer News ! One of the people involved with today's A39 crash has been seriously injured, police confirmed. The crash happened at around 8.40am today, on the A39 near Wadebridge, between the Padstow and Bodmin junctions. According to the Devon and Cornwall Police, four people were injured, with initial reports that none of them were serious. However, new information released by the police states that one man involved has sustained a more serious injury. It is understood by CornwallLive that the man in question had a heart attack, but this has not been confirmed by police officers. Police have advised people continue to keep their distance from the crash site as investigators are still present and the roads are still shut. An appeal for witnesses has also been issued by the force. A police spokesperson released the this statement on the crash: "Police were called with a report of a two-vehicle collision on the A39 near Wadebridge, between Padstow and Bodmin junctions, this morning at around 8.40am. "Three people sustained what are believed to be minor injuries. A male has sustained serious injuries. "Police attended with ambulance and fire crews. Motorists are advised to avoid the area as police collision investigators are at the scene. "Witnesses of the collision, or anyone in the area prior to the collision with dashcam footage which may have captured either vehicle involved, are asked to contact police on 101 or via email at 101@dc.police.

The collision was between a black Jeep and a silver Renault people carrier, with police still in attendance while it is cleared up. Images of the scene show the road near to Premier Inn closed off, with several emergency vehicles still nearby to the people carrier, which was still in the road. Police cars, ambulance crews and the fire service were all called out to the incident shortly after, with the road seeing heavy traffic since it was shut. As of 3.06pm, the road remains closed - causing heavy disruption to nearby roads as well as the A39 itself. With the A39 Wadebridge bypass shut, traffic in the town has been in “gridlock”, in the words of Twitter user @Pukekobird. It has also been causing disruption to public transport services, with bus routes to operate along their normal route. Traffic monitoring service Inrix said at 3.06pm: “A39 Wadebridge Bypass in both directions closed, slow traffic due to accident between A389 and West Hill. "Road remains closed since around 8.45am following an accident." The road is reportedly unlikely to be reopened soon, potentially causing further traffic disruption into the late afternoon and early evening.
