PremierLeague-News.Com - Breaking Sport Transfer News ! The Met Office is helping the fire service as it tackles a dangerous agricultural fire in Cornwall. Firefighters continue to tackle the blaze, which has been raging in a barn near Gummow's Shop close to Summercourt since shortly before noon today (Monday, May 3). It is understood that fertiliser is alight, with nearby residents being urged to keep their doors and windows closed because of the danger of harmful fumes. It has been confirmed that a number of agencies, including Public Health England, Environment Agency and Met Office, are all helping in the response. The Exeter-based Met Office has told CornwallLive that its expertise is being used to try and predict the movement of potentially dangerous smoke coming from the inferno. Meteorologist Steven Keates said: "We are helping with our EMARC team. EMARC stands for Environmental Monitoring and Response Centre and when a fire involves chemicals or fertilisers like this one, quite often the emergency services are interested to know where the smoke will blow. "If the smoke contains pollutants, they can obviously be dangerous.
