PremierLeague-News.Com - Breaking Sport Transfer News ! A man from Cornwall has found one of the world's longest chips in Wetherspoon's and, for months, tried to keep it for posterity. Alex Mills, from the Liskeard area, and his friend Joe Greenslade were left in shock in November when they found a chip measuring no less than 19.6cm while eating at the Prince of Wales Spoon's pub in Cardiff. They were so stunned that they decided to save the chip, wrap it up in napkins, take it home and preserve it in their freezer... as you do. The Cardiff University law students were having lunch when Alex, 23, noticed the long chip in his plate. He told Wales Online: "I said, 'Hang on a minute, look at this.' It was massive. Joe was a bit jealous, but he was more just laughing. We laughed for about a minute. We were debating what to do, and we were so close to eating it. We were going to cut it in half as a celebratory thing. But we thought we would carry the joke on. Joe had a backpack on from his lecture, so we wrapped it up in napkins, put it in his backpack, took it home and measured it.

.6cm and still intact." The pair didn't have "a clue" about what to do with it, but decided to share their finding with the rest of the world to put a smile on people's faces. They posted pictures of the chip on Facebook groups Overheard at Cardiff University and Wetherspoons Paltry Chip Count - which surprisingly has over 260,000 members - and also went viral in the local media.

Wetherspoon spokesman Eddie Gershon previously said: “Our chips come in all shapes and sizes. A 19.6cm chip is probably one of the longest ever found in a Wetherspoon pub. However, we can’t promise that long chips will be a regular feature on the plate.” Sadly, Alex' chip is not the world's longest. A 22cm-one was found last year in a bag of Morrisons frozen fries, the Sun reports. But, to this day, Alex says he is still known as "the chip guy" at uni and recently received an interview request from a national radio station... even though his chip broke after two months in the freezer.
