PremierLeague-News.Com - Breaking Sport Transfer News ! Lockdown restrictions have been slowly easing since March, and more rules being lifted on Monday (May 17). The UK Government’s lockdown exit roadmap eases restrictions in stages, as opposed to all at once. Despite coronavirus rates beginning to creep up in some areas, the vaccine rollout is still going strong - with the target of all adults being offered a vaccine by the end of August still seemingly on track. One bit result is a massive reduction in the number of coronavirus-related deaths, the numbers of which in Devon and Cornwall have been at zero for weeks on end at times. The next lockdown stage will now happen on Monday, and it’s a big one. The headlines are that limited indoor mixing at home, in pubs, restaurants and some larger events can finally go ahead. You can, as of Monday, meet up in other people’s homes inside in groups of six, or a maximum of two households. For pubs and restaurants, all restrictions except basic social distancing, mask-wearing when not at a table, and table service will be lifted. This means people can once again eat and drink inside, and not need to have a substantial meal - or be out by 10pm. However, they will need to remain at their table, including to order.

. Some larger outdoor events may now go ahead from Monday, too, such as sporting events of up to 4,000 people, or half-full (whichever is lower). Inside, sporting events with a capacity of 1,000 people, or half capacity, can go ahead too. Excitingly, up to 10,000 people can attend the biggest venues, as long as they can spread out. Good news for happy couples is also coming out, with weddings and wedding receptions allowed to happen as long as the guest list doesn’t exceed 30. The same rules for weddings apply for wakes and funerals, as well as religious events like bar mitzvahs. The next step will not be happening until June 21 at the earliest, where all legal limits on social contact will be lifted. In March, we saw the return of in-person teaching at schools, as well as heavily restricted outdoor mixing. At the end of that month, the rules on meeting outside relaxed from one other person to the rule of six, and the ‘stay at home’ rule ended. Then, around a month ago, non-essential retail was allowed to open again. Most notably, hairdressers and barbers could finally shear people’s lockdown hair.
