PremierLeague-News.Com - Breaking Sport Transfer News ! A Cornish couple say they are “absolutely chuffed” after scooping the jackpot on the BBC quiz show Pointless. Presented by Alexander Armstrong and Richard Osman, Pointless airs each day and is a popular quiz in which contestants try to score as few points as possible by using their general knowledge to come up with answers nobody else can think of. Long-term fans of the show Steve and Tina Campbell from Looe won a jackpot of £3,500 on the episode aired on Bank Holiday Monday after successfully picking a pointless answer of the world’s biggest cherry producers. Engineer by trade Steve, 55, who now works at a local holiday park, said: “We were on the show on the Friday and that wasn’t quite as successful but luckily with Pointless you get another go. “It was filmed last year between the two lockdowns so keeping it quiet was a real struggle. We only told a few close friends and family members we were on the show and downplayed it saying it didn’t go too well. “It was an amazing experience and we’ve been watching since the show first started 12 years ago. It was still great to speak to them though and it was great fun.

. Steve added: “We had 1917, the Tour de France and cherries as options and we chose cherries in the hope it’d be a question about cherry producing nations we could just throw countries at and that’s exactly what happened. “We were asked to come up with three answers from the top 50 cherry producing countries. Our first two answers were Paraguay and Venezuela, we were thinking of countries around the equator but the answers weren’t correct. “By the third we’d pretty much given up so said Croatia and couldn’t believe it when the board started going down. All the way down we thought it was going to end on one so we were delighted when it was pointless and we won the money. “It was a superb day out.” Steve and former publican Tina, 59, once appeared on an antiques quiz show presented by Fern Britton. Steve said: “We weren’t successful with that one but are absolutely chuffed with how it went on Pointless.” On the show the couple joked about spending the money on micropigs and Star Wars memorabilia but now say that’s it is only right they spend the money on a trip to Croatia when Covid allows.
