PremierLeague-News.Com - Breaking Sport Transfer News ! Cornwall Council is set to decide this week whether to increase its share of council tax bills by 4.99% for the coming year. However, while the unitary authority's charge makes up the lion's share of council tax bills there are also contributions for the police and for town and parish councils. For 2021/22 Devon and Cornwall is increasing its share of the bills by 6.73% while the average increase for town and parish councils is 3.39%. Yet, while many of us will see a rise in the amount we pay to our town and parish councils there are some parts of Cornwall where they pay nothing. Unlike Cubert Parish Council - where councillors have decided to axe their charge this year due to Covid-19 - these are areas which never charge residents on their council tax. So where should you be moving to in Cornwall if you want to avoid paying anything to a town or parish council? Here is an alphabetical list of all those which set no precept: Boconnoc Braddock (formerly Broadoak) Morvah Padstow St Michael Caerhays St Michael's Mount Treneglos It's far removed from the charges slapped on the bills in other parts of Cornwall to pay for services from town and parish councils. The highest is in Falmouth where residents in a Band D property will have to pay £371.17 in 2021/22 and in Bodmin, despite an 18% cut this year, householders will be paying £274.38. Other high paying areas include Truro £267.56; Launceston £257.02; and Camelford £254.38.
