PremierLeague-News.Com - Breaking Sport Transfer News ! Several people were injured after a crash involving five vehicles in Weaverham this afternoon (Wednesday, August 2). The road has been closed while emergency services attend the scene. Cheshire Fire & Rescue Service sent crews from Northwich and Middlewich to deal with the crash and help those injured. The service described five people as "walking wounded". Firefighters rescued another person who was "medically and physically" trapped inside their vehicle. The roof of the car was cut off so the person could be removed. They were taken to hospital by air ambulance. The crash took place at around 4.30pm at the junction between Sandy Lance and Warrington Road. The fire service began leaving the scene at 5.38pm.

"Five walking wounded are being cared for by ambulance and air ambulance staff. Firefighters have removed the roof of one vehicle in which a casualty is medically and physically trapped to enable an extrication. Five vehicles are believed to be involved." It later added: "The casualty removed from the car has been taken to hospital by air ambulance. Fire crews are now making up their equipment and will shortly be leaving the scene. The incident has been handed over to police." The road remained closed as of 6.40pm and police were still in the area.
