PremierLeague-News.Com - Breaking Sport Transfer News ! Both the M6 and A556 will be closed this weekend as work to create the new bridge at a junction in Cheshire continues. The two roads will shut in both directions at junction 19 for approximately 34 hours from 8pm on Friday, April 9 to 6am on Sunday, April 11. The M6 will be shut between both slip roads of junction 19 with motorway traffic able to use the slip roads as an "up and over" diversion. It is the first of two full closures in April that are being put in place to allow concrete to be poured onto the new bridge designed to take traffic over the motorway on the A556. A spokesperson for Highways England have warned that due to the recent increase in traffic volume as lockdown restrictions ease, there may be longer delays than there were during previous closures. They said: "The motorway will be closed between the exit and entry slip roads, with a short two lane diversion up and over the junction roundabout. "We’ll need to close the A556 in both directions to allow M6 traffic to flow freely over the junction 19 diversion route. The A556 in Tabley will be closed northbound from the junction with the A5033. "The M56 junction 7 westbound exit slip road will also be closed to reduce HGV movements on local roads.

. "We'll use a number of lane closures on the M6 overnight on the Friday and Saturday. This will allow us to reline the carriageway to accommodate two lanes of traffic over the diversion route. "There will be no full overnight closures of the M6 motorway between junctions 18 and 20, as there were during the full weekend closures in January." As well as using the "up and over" diversion at the junction 19 roundabout, drivers are also encouraged to use junctions 18 and 20 to go around the closure. The second closure is schedule to be put in place from 8pm on Friday, April 16 to 6am on Sunday, April 18. In January, 18 beams weighing 40 tonnes were lifted into place for the new bridge, which will help to improve traffic flow from the M6 and the A556 at the junction near Knutsford.
