PremierLeague-News.Com - Breaking Sport Transfer News ! Rail services through Bristol were suspended yesterday (Saturday, May 1) after a person was reportedly hit by a train. A section of track between the Temple Meads and Parkway stations was closed and all services were stopped. The line serves Cross Country trains from Edinburgh, Derby, Plymouth, Cheltenham and Newcastle, and Great Western Railway routes between Weymouth, Taunton, Cardiff and Weston-super-Mare. It was closed around 8pm and remained shut until after midnight, while bus replacement services were brought in at Warminster. A tweet by Great Western Railway, responding to a traveller on the delayed Newport to Southampton service, explained the closure. The Twitter post said: "Hi Jon, this service is currently 57 minutes delayed due to a person being hit by a train. "There is scheduled to be a later bus replacement service from Warminster, however if you are further delayed please speak to the customer service help point. - Celia.

A log on the National Rail Services website was last updated just after 12am this morning (Sunday, May 2), when the line was cleared. It said: "The emergency services have now dealt with the incident between Bristol Temple Meads and Bristol Parkway / Patchway and trains are able to run normally."
