Ali Abdirahman turned to drink and drugs after a family member was attacked, Bristol Crown Court. Police who stopped a car he was a passenger in found him with wraps of heroin and crack cocaine. Analysis of his mobile phone showed evidence of drug dealing. Abdirahman, 23, of Heron Road, pleaded guilty to two charges of supplying and two charges of offering to supply heroin and cocaine. The recorder Mr Roger Harris jailed him for two years and three months. Robert Morgan-Jones, prosecuting by video link, said police stopped a car in the early hours of April 21, 2019, and could smell cannabis from it. Police searched the car and found nine wraps of 53 per cent pure heroin worth £90 and eight wraps of 91 per cent pure crack cocaine worth £80. Abdirahman was found with £210 and analysis of his mobile showed he was involved in drug supply, Mr Morgan-Jones said.

Probation officer Kate Wildish said it was Abdirahman's case that he was dealing drugs to acquaintances but had since stopped drinking and taking drugs, attending mosque for prayer and aspired to train as a barber. She told the court: "He believes his behaviour was disgusting."
