PremierLeague-News.Com - Breaking Sport Transfer News ! A man has been charged with assaulting two police officers as they tried to break up an illegal house party in Bristol on Friday night. Police attended reports that a party was going on at a flat in Cheltenham Road in Cotham late on Friday (February 19) evening and said they broke up a gathering of as many as 30 people. Around a dozen police cars attended the scene at about 11pm, and a witness reported seeing people leaving the scene as police swarmed the property. This morning, Monday (February 22), police have confirmed that a man has been charged with two counts of assaulting an emergency worker, and has been released on bail. "He's also been issued with a Fixed Penalty Notice for a Covid-19 breach," said a police spokesperson. The man, who is yet to be named, will be summoned to court at a later date. Over the weekend, a spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: "Officers attended an address on Cheltenham Road, Bristol shortly after 11pm on Friday 19 February following a report of a house party in progress. "Around 30 people were present at the address. "A man in his 40s was arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker and breaching Covid-19 regulations.

." A witness said they saw around a dozen people on skateboards leaving the building. They said: "12 police cars attended from about 11.30pm to flats close to Cloak and Dagger pub. "They arrested one man in particular. "Then what looked like a party was busted, with about a dozen people will skateboards leaving the building." Under the current coronavirus, lockdown restrictions gatherings of any size are banned. A Fixed Penalty Notice of £200 is issued for the first offence, doubling for further offences up to a maximum of £6,400. The government website says if you hold, or are involved in holding, an illegal gathering of over 30 people, the police can issue fines of £10,000.
