The road has been shut at the junctions with Tyndalls Park Road and Belgrave Road, and buses have now been diverted. Campaigners are participating in the sixth Kill the Bill protest to happen in the city in recent weeks against the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Bill. Avon and Somerset Police have said officers are at the scene "engaging" with those involved. They said: "About 50 people have tonight gathered for a sit-in protest in Whiteladies Road, Bristol. "To ensure public safety, it's been shut at the junctions with Tyndalls Park Road and Belgrave Road.

FOLLOW OUR LIVE BLOG HERE The group gathered on College Green at 4pm today (April 7) and then marched up the road to the BBC building chanting "What's the tea, BBC" as they went. Unlike other protests, the campaigners today are taking a stand against what they call 'biased reporting' from the media on the protests. One man has been arrested after appearing to urinate on the building. The BBC have been approached for comment.
