PremierLeague-News.Com - Breaking Sport Transfer News ! The trial of Bristol Rovers manager Joey Barton has been adjourned for a second time and won't now happen until the end of October. The 39-year-old is accused of assaulting his wife on June 2 last year, and had been due to stand trial in March this year and again today (Thursday June 23) but the case has been adjourned again. Previous court sittings have heard that Barton allegedly kicked his wife Georgia in the head at their house in Kew in south west London, leaving a lump 'the size of a golf ball' after drinking four or five bottles of wine.

. That delayed the case from March to June and the issue of whether the defence would call Mrs Barton as a defence witness has still not been settled. Now the case has been adjourned again to a two-day trial which is scheduled to take place on October 31 and November 1, two days after Bristol Rovers' away fixture with Derby County.
