PremierLeague-News.Com - Breaking Sport Transfer News ! IT'S safe to say we have all missed a trip our locals for a drink or food with friends. Berkshire boasts an abundance of traditional and historic pubs - many with fascinating pasts, and locals have missed them this last year. We are still in lockdown for now, and it will be a while before we can be back at our favourite boozers, but Boris Johnson is set to announce plans later today for a "roadmap" to end lockdown, which is expected to include dates for the return of outdoor drinking. With this in mind, we have rounded up a few of Berkshire's best pubs - as rated by locals across the county. READ MORE: The KEY DATES in the plan to ease lockdown – and what we might see in Berkshire 1. The Long Barn, Slough: 5* The Long Barn The Long Barn, Cippenham Lane, is described as a beautiful 17th century community pub, "full of rustic charm and atmosphere." The site says it has a lovely, sunny terrace and is family and dog friendly. The pub serves a wide selection of premium lagers, draft and bottled ciders, malt whiskies, speciality gins, Fever Tree tonics and refreshing soft drinks, to name a few. Locals on Trip Advisor have left glowing reviews, rating it with five stars. One visitor said: "Visited The Long Barn for the first time last week and will be going back again very soon. "Great host and food was spot on. "Plus the Guinness was awesome. "It came highly recommended and it was which was correct, staff very curious and helpful and hopefully be seeing them soon." 2. The Bell Inn, Aldworth: 5* The Bell Inn The Bell Inn is located in the village of Aldworth, near Reading. It won CAMRA's National Pub of the Year in 1990, and received the accolade again for 2019. It is a grade II listed building and is the only pub in Berkshire with a grade II listed interior. Trip Advisor has also rated it as five stars. One rave review reads: "Been coming here for a few years now, and it never disappoints. window._taboola = window._taboola || []; if (whiteList !== true) { if (isMobile()) { midArticleTaboolaOptions = { mode: 'thumbnails-mid-mob', container: 'taboola-nq-mid-article', placement: 'NQ Mid Article Mobile', target_type: 'mix' } } else { midArticleTaboolaOptions = { mode: 'thumbnails-mid-desk', container: 'taboola-nq-mid-article', placement: 'NQ Mid Article Desktop', target_type: 'mix' } } _taboola.push(midArticleTaboolaOptions); } "The beer is wonderful and the cider is fantastic. No wonder CAMRA members hold the pub in such high esteem. "It's a wonderful time capsule inside, nothing has really changed since the end of WWII judging by appearances, the walls are covered in really interesting local history. "You are served though a small hatch in centre of the bar, a real throwback but utterly charming. "They are coping very well with Covid-19 and have a one way system through the garden, and a slightly reduced menu, but the rolls as always are the star of the show when you visit.
