PremierLeague-News.Com - Breaking Sport Transfer News ! Love Island star Zara McDermott's documentary on eating disorders has been slammed by viewers. Viewers have rushed to comment on Twitter over the "tone deaf" documentary. Zara's BBC Three documentary was released earlier this month. In the film, the 25-year-old talks to people who are living with eating disorders, as well as those in recovery, and shares how she was subject to cruel comments on social media about her body, following her stint on Love Island. More recently, she realised that talking about her weight loss journey online and posting before and after photos could be triggering for people who struggle with disordered eating. But on social media, viewers have been less than impressed. I’m sure it was well intentioned but it comes off as tone deaf, and uses an influencer who is commonly referenced in unhealthy body image goals online and needs far more change to the way she presents herself online." She added: "Zara seems lovely and her documentaries shine a light on really important topics. She also is only a small part of the problem online, but I just feel that the documentary could have been handled this so much better. As she goes on so much about the fakeness of social media and the amount of images she takes to get the ‘perfect picture’, then why doesn’t she show more of the outtakes? Lots of influencers make money off of showing both images.

." Cara said: "Watching the Zara McDermott #DisorderedEating documentary and have some mixed feelings. It’s helpful to address the impact of social media but the whole conversation is around how triggering that content it whilst still showing that same content on the programme.." Lucinda wrote: "Zara McDermott makes headlines for "suddenly realising" the impact her weight loss posts have on those eating disorders. Firstly she was told this in 2020 (so its not new) but her 'discovery' is overshadowing the experiences of patients which should be what we're discussing." Eve asked: "wouldn't be so hard for @bbcthree to find a presenter who has real personal experience of eating disorders. Instead they're using a reality star who relatively recently lost a bunch of weight?" Rose added: "Watching the Zara McDermott #DisorderedEating programme and it's laughable how they keep filming her in flattering, arty angles and pretty dappled light, and everyone else is filmed very flatly without any effort to flatter."
