Dubbed the 'Burntwood Jawa', the mystical figure was spotted milling around an island on Rugeley Road, late on Saturday night (February 20). Garreth Meeson, a student at Walsall College, was stunned when he came across the 'Jawa' and told his brother - sat in the passenger seat of his car - to record it on his phone. Speaking to Black Country Live, the 18-year-old said: "I saw it on Rugeley Road and I thought what the hell is that. I saw it out of the corner of my eye, but I didn't approach him and I stayed in the car, just in case he did anything stupid. Concerns were raised after a video emerged of a group of people chasing the 'Jawa'. The footage outraged residents, who urged people not to hurt him. The person behind the 'Jawa' has created a Facebook account to let everyone know that they were okay. They also announced a Covid safe competition for their fans to take part in. The post said: "Burntwood. Thank you for your concern. Jawa is good.
