NHS England updated its daily tally on Easter Monday, April 5, alongside Public Health Scotland, Public Health Wales and the Department for Health in Northern Ireland. Wales recorded eight further deaths, it was confirmed, with 15 further deaths announced in England by the NHS, zero further Covid deaths in Scotland announced, and two in Northern Ireland. Two of England's 15 deaths came in the Midlands - with one in Birmingham, at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. The announcement comes ahead of a landmark address from Prime Minister Boris Johnson later today, at 5pm, from No 10 Downing Street.
