Police and paramedics were called to the incident at the junction of Homer Road and Princes Way at 11:24am. West Midlands Ambulance said they were called to report of a collision between a car and a pedestrian. The male pedestrian was treated for potentially serious injuries before being taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham. Homer Road, a main route into the town centre, was blocked while emergency services were in attendance. Cars were diverted away, and West Midlands Road issued a warning for minor delays. . A West Midlands Ambulance spokesperson told BirminghamLive: "We were called to reports of a collision between a car and pedestrian at the junction of Homer Road and Princes Way at 11.24am. One ambulance and the West Midlands Care Team attended the scene. "On arrival we discovered one male patient who was the pedestrian. He was treated for potentially serious injuries before being taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham for further treatment." West Midlands Police has been contacted for a comment.
