PremierLeague-News.Com - Breaking Sport Transfer News ! A ‘lucky England World Cup omen’ has been discovered at a popular but now closed Sutton Coldfield restaurant, which has been cleared out by its new owner. The Bashundora Indian restaurant off Lichfield Road has shut its doors for the final time just a few weeks ago. But as the new owner of the premises was clearing it out, he discovered a photo of England boss, Gareth Southgate, holding a cup aloft with staff from the venue. And now Mike Jordan, who runs the neighbouring Jordan Financial Management business, hopes the find will bring good luck to the England team out in Qatar trying to win the winter World Cup. The trophy-holding photo is thought to be Gareth Southgate, a former Sutton resident, raising the League Cup won in 1996 when Aston Villa beat Leeds United 3-0 at Wembley. Gareth, then living in Streetly, is pictured with Bashundora stuff hoisting the cup, after a celebratory curry. The financial advisor said: “It was amazing, really - we were actually talking about England’s chances in the World Cup, because the team had just flown out to Qatar. “Then I put my hand down the back of this cupboard and could feel something wedged down there. I pulled it out and there’s Gareth Southgate, smiling back at me and holding up a trophy. “We couldn’t believe it - I hope it’s a good omen that he will be celebrating again soon, after England win the World Cup.

. He missed the fateful penalty that saw the Three Lions dumped out of the tournament by Germany, just one step away from the Wembley final. As well as the Southgate cup winning photo, Mike Jordan also found pictures of owner Sir Doug Ellis celebrating at the restaurant, along with other Villa stars.

The Villa fan added: “The restaurant was obviously a favourite of the Villa squad at the time, and as captain Gareth Southgate was the main man at Villa Park. He’s still the club’s most-capped England player. “But the photo is also a reminder that he knows how to win silverware – after all, he won the same cup with Middlesbrough. Let’s hope he can find the same recipe for success in Qatar and win the tournament. Then I think the whole country will go out for a celebratory curry!
