After paying tribute to the "wonderful" staff there, the singer and TV star has asked her thousands of fans to make a donation to Wakefield Hospital in memory of her late partner Ed Rothe. The 58-year-old announced yesterday that Ed, formerly a drummer Liquid Gold and later The Searchers, had sadly died at the end of March following a battle with lung cancer. Today she tweeted asking fans who wanted to send flowers to instead make a donation to the hospital via a JustGiving page. "Further to the sad passing of Ed Rothe," the fund-raising page's description reads, "we have been inundated with very kind offers to send flowers and also give donations to charity in his memory. "We would very much like to support Wakefield Hospice who did a wonderful job in supporting and looking after both Ed and Jane."
