PremierLeague-News.Com - Breaking Sport Transfer News ! Lee Hendrie believes Birmingham City could well be relegated this season. The former Aston Villa favourite admits the ongoing saga surrounding the club’s ownership could be detrimental following on from what was a disappointing campaign last term. Blues, who won just 11 of their 46 fixtures last season, will open their 2022/23 account with a trip to Luton next month and, ahead of the new season, Hendrie says he fears for the worst at St Andrew’s. He said: “I’ve looked at the league table from last season and we’ve touched on the points deduction from Derby (21 points) and you do feel that [Birmingham] were quite lucky to survive. If they don’t get that structure right early on, I think they could find themselves in all sorts of trouble.” Blues are heading closer to a takeover of the club with former Watford owner Laurence Bassini informing BirminghamLive that he had exchanged contracts for the club. He’s since claimed that he has until June 30, Thursday week, to complete the takeover. Do you agree with Hendrie? Let us know in the comments section.
