PremierLeague-News.Com - Breaking Sport Transfer News ! A family have been left traumatised after a man was shot in the face near their holiday resort. Tracey Campbell was with her children, Chloe, 16, and Louis, 14, when they witnessed the horrific incident in Mexico. The Scottish mum, 55, said they were having the "holiday of a lifetime" at Cancun's Riu Dunamar Hotel, before it turned into a living night. She claims the man who was shot was "paraded" past stunned hotel guests with blood dripping from a hole in his face. Tracey had booked the luxury stay, costing £5,600, with her friend Sandra after a "difficult 12 months" of health issues. "It was meant to be a holiday of a lifetime, but it turned into absolute hell. "I've not got a 14-year-old boy who is struggling to sleep because he's still so terrified that it could've been him, or us, that got shot." On the shooting, Tracey added: "We had breakfast as normal and went to the pool, practically on the beach. Sandra and I were sitting on the beds and I heard this really loud bang. I wasn’t really that alarmed about it until the kids came running in screaming and crying. "A woman stood up behind us and shouted 'that guy has just been shot in the face’. Within seconds, there was another guy who appeared and said a bullet had just whizzed by his ear. “He was crying. His family were in a terrible state.

. Blood was dripping everywhere and his eyes were bulging out of his head.” Tracey said holidaymakers at the resort were told by armed police that they wouldn't be able to leave while they investigated the shooting. Horrified by the event, Tracey and Sandra decided it would be best to head home after eventually being allowed back to their rooms. They claim hotel staff offered them a transfer to a different resort, but only if they signed a waiver stating they wouldn't tell anyone about what they had seen. Tracey said: "A big guy who worked there appeared with a letter and said we were going nowhere unless we signed it. We refused, so he told us to go back to our rooms. "His behaviour was ridiculous. The kids were in a state. I spoke to the manager and she made them type up a different letter saying that we were going to a different hotel. “We ended up staying in the other hotel for the majority of the trip because the kids were too scared to go anywhere near the beach." After returning to Scotland, Tracey contacted TUI over the holiday but claims she didn't receive an apology or any compensation at first. However, after being contacted by our sister website, Daily Record, TUI confirmed that compensation would be paid out. A spokesperson for the Riu Dunamar Hotel said: “Likewise, we understand that the incident witnessed by the Campbell family has been incredibly distressing. We immediately activated the protocol established in these cases and contacted the authorities, we cannot give more information about the matter since it is in the hands of the police. "We’d like to reassure our customers that these kinds of incidents are very rare and that we are also constantly improving our processes with the authorities to ensure the comfort and safety of all of our guests and colleagues.” READ MORE: Haul of illegal vapes worth £27k seized in Staffordshire Companies handed £104k bill after staff exposed to asbestos at Kidderminster factory Weoley Castle shoplifter with no teeth jailed after spitting on cops and hurling racist abuse in B&Q Dangerous son locked up after telling family 'I'm going to kill all of you' in West Browmich knife frenzy
