Mr Johnson has touched down in Kigali ahead of the Commonwealth leaders summit. Mr Johnson will hold talks with the Prince of Wales in Rwanda after the heir to the throne's reported criticism of the policy of sending asylum seekers there on a one-way ticket. The PM’s spokesman said: “They will obviously encounter each other during the summit. “But they will have a bilateral discussion as well.” The PM and Charles - who both met one another at COP26 last year - will meet on Friday. . Earlier this week, PM Johnson called critics of his Rwanda asylum policy "condescending" ahead of his meeting with the Prince of Wales after Charles reportedly described the policy as "appalling". He said: "Clearly I'm going to Rwanda and an opportunity for us all to see the country with whom we now have this very important economic and migration partnership. "And I think an opportunity for us all to understand for ourselves what that partnership has to offer. Let's hope perhaps help others to shed some of their condescending attitudes to Rwanda and how that partnership might work. "I'm conscious that I'm arriving before anybody who has travelled illegally across the Channel, I cannot conceal that fact from you - there it is - but it is still the case that no UK court and no international court has ruled our plan unlawful."
