PremierLeague-News.Com - Breaking Sport Transfer News ! Police have urged the public to avoid an area of the city after an unexploded WW2 bomb was pulled from a canal. Officers confirmed Lincoln Road North in Acocks Green was blocked off following the discovery just after 9am this morning (Sun, Feb 21). Residents were urged to steer clear of a section of the canal between Pierce Avenue and The Avenue for 'public safety'. The bomb squad were spotted in the street after the device was uncovered in the water. Several marked police cars could be seen sealing off the area 'as a precaution'. The device has been assessed by the bomb disposal unit and police said it will be deactivated 'in due course'. A spokeswoman for West Midlands Police said: "Lincoln Road North in Acocks Green has been closed after an unexploded WW2 device was discovered in a nearby canal just after 9am this morning (21 February).
