PremierLeague-News.Com - Breaking Sport Transfer News ! Armed police officers arrested five people who were in a car where a gun was found - which then sparked police searches across the city. Officers stopped the car in Muirfield Gardens in the Kings Norton area of the city and recovered the handgun along with ammunition in the vehicle. The five people, all aged between 23 and 37, are all being questioned on suspicion of possessing a firearm. Following the National Crime Agency's Armed Operations Unit stopping the car, officers joined West Midlands Police in searching a number of locations in the Rubery, Stourbridge, Shenley Fields, Northfield and Longbridge areas in connection with the arrests. NCA Branch Commander Mick Pope said: "We have seen all too recently in Birmingham how illegal firearms are used in acts of serious violence, as well as being used by crime groups to coerce and intimidate. "This is why reducing their availability and taking guns off the streets is a priority for the NCA and West Midlands Police.
