PremierLeague-News.Com - Breaking Sport Transfer News ! Birmingham City want Alen Halilovic to extend his stay at St Andrew’s. Blues have this morning (Monday) confirmed their retained and released list, with Halilovic one of several players due to be out of contract. But the popular midfielder has been offered a new deal, along with Ryan Stirk and Caolan Boyd-Munce. Halilovic, 24, has established himself as a fan favourite after his arrival on a free transfer in November. He scored once in his 16 games - a superb winner against QPR in February - has played a variety of positions and has given a taste of the kind of skills which took him to the Dinamo Zagreb academy and then on to Barcelona and AC Milan. A proper pre-season under his belt and I think he can become an even better player. “From what I understand he is enjoying it. I like him as a player and I will be recommending that we keep him. “He brings us something different. You need to have those players, when we want to the diamond on the weekend (vs Derby) you needed people who are comfortable receiving the ball, want to play forward and get into the right areas.” Blues fans are now eager to see Halilovic sign on after the Croatian was offered fresh terms. KJ Reilloc: “No major surprises here for me - great to see we've offered contracts to Halilovic and Stirk, as well as exercising options on players like Seddon, Lakin, Campbell and Dos Reis. I suppose the only thing close to a surprise is releasing Crowley - but not a big one.
