PremierLeague-News.Com - Breaking Sport Transfer News ! 2020 and the start of 2021 has been very tough for our restaurant trade - with some heavy losses. However, there has been positive news, with announcements of several new eateries and bars opening in the city opening this year - as soon as it is safe to do so. For the moment, bars and restaurants remain closed during lockdown 3.0 but the end is in sight! On Monday (February 22), PM Boris Johnson is due to announce the Government's roadmap out of lockdown - with the gradual easing of restrictions on all sectors, including hospitality. We can look forward to a restaurant helmed by a MasterChef: The Professionals winner, a stunning canalside eatery, a Japanese fried chicken haven and a burlesque bottomless brunch bar. Seoul Kitchen Seoul Kitchen is opening soon This Korean BBQ restaurant will open in the unit formerly occupied by Natural Bar and Kitchen,which closed for good last year. The new eatery will serve up dishes - Korean BBQ style - where the chef uses a centrally displayed grill to prepare meats such as beef, pork, and chicken to order. Birmingham meat-eaters can look forward to authentic Korean barbecue dishes, including bulgogi - marinated thinly sliced beef. 24 Suffolk Street Queensway, B1 1LT Karage Karage in Moseley (Image: Karage on) Japanese fried chicken restaurant Karage opened in the old Katsu Kitchen on Woodbridge Road, Moseley earlier this month. Katsu Kitchen owner Yuji is now part of the Karage team. Karage refers to the traditional Japanese frying method. The chicken is lightly marinated, then coated in a traditional chicken breading that has starch among other ingredients, which helps it to stick onto the chicken and form a crispy layer when deep-fried, fresh to order. Shogun double burger at Karage Other Japanese specialities include gyoza, miso soup, yakisoba, takoyaki- octopus balls. Described as a "high-end Italian restaurant and bar" it will open with a stunning glazed terrace. Expect all the Italian classics "done exceptionally well" - from food to cocktails such as Aperol Spritz and Negroni. Bellissimo! The Mailbox Medicine Medicine restaurant will open at The Mailbox Medicine cafe has already taken over the deli area in the walkway of the Urban Room and proved to be a huge success, so we can't wait until its new Mailbox restaurant opens. The Medicine restaurant will open in the unit formerly occupied by Tom's Kitchen serving up a "quality independent casual dining experience". BirminghamLive can reveal it will be called Estado da Indian. The new venue will serve Portuguese Indian food and promises to be a "warm, casual, relaxed yet vibrant dining concept in elegant, urban chic surroundings”. 42-44 High Street, Harborne, B17 9NE Tonight Josephine Tonight Josephine on Stephenson Street is "ready to open" London brand Tonight Josephine is ready to open on Stephenson Street as soon as lockdown lifts. Headed up by the owners of the much-loved Hen and Chickens desi pub on Constitution Hill, you can expect something special. The new venue - spanning over 7,000 sq ft - will be located at the junction of Warstone Lane and Water Street. It will feature a covered courtyard, a heated mezzanine rooftop, two bars, and a private internal terrace. It is not yet known what type of food it will serve. The Pub @ Kings Heath has applied for "change of use" planning permission to open in the closed shop. According to the planning application, the new drinking and eating venue will have booth seating and operate as an all-day bar and restaurant. The Pub @ Kings Heath will also offer "a wide range of premium lagers, cask ales and craft beers, cocktails, premium spirits and wines."
