The number of people who have tested positive for coronavirus continues to climb upwards and the pressure on hospitals has increased as they get filled up to their holding capacity. And with the latest lockdown, it means that non-essential businesses such as restaurants and bars, entertainment venues and the barbers have had to once again suffer by closing their premises. Staying at home has given people time to work on house projects that they were waiting for the right time to begin. One of the main aspects of renovation that many don't look forward to is the clearing up of the waste afterwards - and this has left people to wonder if the tips are considered to be essential and whether they are still open during lockdown. So, are the tips in Berkshire still open during lockdown 3? What are the rules tip users have to follow? The short answer is yes. Reading Borough Council, Slough Borough Council, West Berkshire Council and the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead have all confirmed that the tips will continue to run during the latest lockdown. As with other businesses that remain open during lockdown, new rules have been implemented to control the amount of people entering the site. When you visit a tip site, you can expect to see: A limit on the number of vehicles unloading Social distancing measures in place with visitors encouraged to wear masks Only residents who pay council tax to Buckinghamshire Council can use the sites During busy periods, especially at weekends, last entry may be before 4pm to allow those already onsite to unload their waste and exit by 4pm However, people are being advised to plan ahead of their visit to ensure that the service they receive is prompt and effective. People have been advised to: Check the webcams online to see how busy the site is and for the quieter times to visit Only visit if you cannot store your waste or use another disposal method such as the kerbside service Bring proof of address Only allow one person out of the vehicle unless you need help unloading waste. Staff cannot offer assistance at the moment Come back another time if the site is busy Opening times Bracknell Longshot Lane Recycling Centre remains open. The tip is open seven days a week throughout different periods of the year. From April to September, the tip opens between 8am-7pm and from October to March, it opens between 8am-6pm.

Windsor and Maidenhead People who live in Windsor and Maidenhead can use the Stafferton Way Household Waste and Recycling Site Monday through to Sunday. The tip is open from 8am-4.30pm. Slough People who live in Slough have the possibility of three sites that they can use to get rid of their household waste and recycling. The three tips available to people who live in Slough are: Chalvey - White Hart Road, off Spackmans Way, SL1 2SF. Burnham - Crowpiece Lane, SL2 3TG. Langley - Langley Park Road, SL3 6DD. West Berkshire There are two sites that the people of West Berkshire can use to dump their household waste. The first is Newtown Road Recycling Centre and the second is Padworth Recycling Centre. In order to use either site, you have to book an appointment. Anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19 or is showing symptoms of the virus should remain at home and get someone else to disregard of the household waste, instead.
