PremierLeague-News.Com - Breaking Sport Transfer News ! Police have uncovered a stash of sweets believed to be laced with a substance found in cannabis. Officers from Cheshire Constabulary made an arrest and searched an address in Middlewich on Thursday where they came across what they believe to be fake "Nerd" sweets. It is thought the sweets contain THC which is a substance identified in cannabis. A spokesperson from Cheshire Police said on social media: "As a result of an arrest and search in Middlewich today, a quantity of what appear to be children's sweets were discovered by police. Please check what your children have in their possession. "We believe the sweets contain (THC) which is identified in Cannabis." Similar packets of sweets were found by police in London in October after 13 schoolgirls were rushed to hospital from La Sainte Union Catholic School in Camden.

. In August last year, police in North Yorkshire issued a warning to parents after officers raided properties in Harrogate and found large supplies of the sweets. Packets were also found in Bradford, which were also stuffed with cannabis. And in July a teenage girl had to be taken to hospital in Castleford, near Wakefield, after she ate Nerds Rope infused with amphetamine. Words on the packaging stated that the sweets contain 600mg of THC and have a 60-minute activation time. An average joint is reported to contain about 12mg of THC according to scientific studies. According to reports, youngsters are buying the sweets from dealers online for as little as £42.
