There have been a further nine deaths of people suffering from Covid-19 in NHS trusts serving Berkshire, according to official figures published today (February 21). The nine newly-recorded deaths all took place in Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust, which also operates hospitals in Surrey. Since the start of the pandemic 1,185 people have died from coronavirus while at the trust. A total of 136 new cases of Covid-19 were recorded across the county today, up from 104 yesterday. The lowest number of cases were found in Wokingham, where 13 positive tests were returned. Nationally, there were 9,834 lab-confirmed cases of coronavirus in the UK, bringing the total in the UK to 4,115,509.. Sadly, the national figures also showed that a further 215 people had died within 28 days of testing positive for the virus. It means that so far 120,580 people have died within a month of returning a positive test.
