PremierLeague-News.Com - The shop was packed and several of the shelves are starting to empty
PremierLeague-News.Com - Breaking Sport Transfer News ! One of Reading's most beloved shops on Broad Street is set to shut. Clas Ohlson is closing its last ever UK store to "focus on its Nordic markets." The Swedish-based retailer has branches in Sweden, Norway, and Finland and in 2018 it closed all of its UK branches with the exception of Reading. Its closure has been met with sadness from the Reading community. Mark Palmer said that it was "a shame" that the shop is closing as it "sold all sorts of interesting and unusual things" while Ben Macleod said: "That shop was brilliant". Perhaps the only positive is the fact that the company is currently having a 30 per cent off closing down sale. READ MORE:When is Clas Ohlson closing Reading store? With this in mind, I thought I'd head along to Broad Street myself to see what bargains I could get my hands on. I needed to purchase some relatively boring, essential items anyway and took this as my opportunity to put one of Reading's best 'everything' shops to use. Once Clas Ohlson disappears, Reading locals will be left with Ikea, the Range, and a few other shops that seem to stock 'everything' and anything. Once gone, shoppers based on the high street will have to turn to places like Wilkinsons and more specialist shops. Bargain buys I purchased some essential items and altogether they cost less than £10. (Image: Hannah Roberts) As I headed to the store I instantly noticed how busy it was for a Tuesday morning. I'd visited the week prior and it was almost empty. Upon entrance, I also saw that quite a few of the shelves were empty.

. Whilst an odd thing to be in popular demand, it makes sense that all of the quirky buys are starting to disappear, given that you probably won't be able to purchase something like a pinata elsewhere on the high street. Apart from the pinata, I only needed to buy a few essential items including cleaning products and kitchen items. Clas Ohlson stocks a wide range of kitchenware, hardware, technology items, and more. Inside the shop, there are heated outdoor lamps, maracas, mini-greenhouses, hammocks, Christmas decorations, and tons and tons of great storage solutions for purchase. My 'to buy' list in comparison to some of these items looked very boring indeed. This means that I purchased five items in total and altogether this would have usually cost £10.55. The shop assistant added the discount after scanning and the bundle of items cost me £7.38. I spoke to the assistant and she told me that the company is looking to permanently close sometime in August but has no set date. With this in mind, it's a great idea to head down to the sale yourself if you want some cheap essential items or even the odd quirky find. The shop is currently open from 9am to 5pm every day.
