Half of Britain's railway lines are set to close as a result of Network Rail and train company staff voting for strike action. The Rail, Maritime and Transport union (RMT) has announced three days of rail strikes starting on Tuesday, June 21. The second will be on Thursday, June 23 and the third will take place on Saturday, June 25. Most train operating companies are affected by the action, including Greater Anglia, Avanti West Coast and West Midland Trains. Great Western Railway, will be affected, serves Reading, Slough, Newbury and other Berkshire destinations.
