Another 19 cases of coronavirus have been recorded across Berkshire - while weekly infection rates rose in three areas, according to the latest figures. The latest data from Public Health England on Thursday (May 13) shows Slough had the biggest increase in the last 24 hour reporting period, with six new cases. The total of new cases is down from from yesterday's update, when there were 24. There were 32 on Tuesday. Meanwhile, weekly Covid-19 infection rates increased slightly in Wokingham, Windsor & Maidenhead and Bracknell Forest in the seven days up to May 7 - although numbers have remained low across Berkshire. However West Berkshire and Slough both have infection rates higher than the England average of 22.1 per 100,000 people. No new Covid-19 related hospital deaths have been recorded in NHS trusts serving Berkshire. Nationwide, the Government said a further 11 people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Thursday, bringing the UK total to 127,651. Separate figures published by the UK’s statistics agencies show there have been 152,000 deaths registered in the UK where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate. As of 9am on Thursday, there had been a further 2,657 lab-confirmed cases in the UK. It brings the total to 4,444,631.
