PremierLeague-News.Com - Breaking Sport Transfer News ! A tortoise has been rescued after it was found wandering on a Berkshire road this week. The reptile was found on the road at Kersey Crescent in Newbury. Luckily, a taxi driver spotted the runaway pet and rescued him from traffic. The good samaritan who works for a private taxi service called Cabco in Newbury brought him back to their office. A worker from the company has confirmed that the escapee has been returned to its owner with the help of social media. Berkshire has not been the only area to have seen traffic affected by a loose tortoise in recent days.

. Clyde had gone missing from a pet shop in East Harline and was spotted on the tracks near Harling Road Station on Monday, August 1. Network Rail was able to save the friendly beast who weighed 50kg. Despite being clipped by a train and suffering a hole in its shell during the crash Clyde is said to be safe and well. A spokesperson for Network Rail Anglia said: "We rescued a 50kg Giant African Spurred Tortoise from the tracks yesterday near Harling Road station after being clipped by a train, damaging his shell.
